Job description

We're a small growing software, app and web business looking for a marketing assistant to join us a few hours a week to help us implement our marketing strategy and build a predictable pipeline of new business enquiries.

Working hours: 5 per week flexible, with the potential to increase by mutual agreement

Location: Initially office-based in Clevedon, North Somerset with the potential to move to mainly home-based by mutual agreement, although we would still expect to catch up with you in the office regularly. Please don't apply if you are not in the local area or in the process of moving here.

Salary: £13-£15 per hour depending on experience (equivalent to £25,350 to £29,250 pa pro-rated)

Reports to: Managing Director

Responsibilities

  • Updating company website (you will not generally be expected to write new content, however copy editing skills would be useful)
  • Publishing newsletter
  • Posting to social media (primarily LinkedIn)
  • PR activities (submitting articles, awards entries etc)
  • Using SEO tools and Google Search Console to improve our search rankings
  • Helping to create marketing plans
  • Following up customers with thank you cards, satisfaction surveys, requesting testimonials
  • Managing and drawing insights from website and social media analytics
  • Potentially, managing pay per click campaigns

There may also be the opportunity to extend this role to provide client, project and admin support in the medium to long term.

Person Specification
Required Attributes

  • Comfortable working in a team while also taking the initiative and working independently
  • Experience of digital marketing (social media, email marketing etc)
  • Comfortable working with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office (documents, spreadsheets and presentations)
  • Experience of editing websites (on any platform, we can train you to use ours) - NOT coding
  • Experience of analytics platforms e.g. Google Analytics

Desirable Attributes

  • Customer-facing experience
  • Project management experience and use of PM tools
  • Anything else related to marketing, especially via digital platforms
  • Ability to create simple artwork matching a set of brand guidelines
  • Copy editing and proof reading
