Marketing and Communications Assistant Role
PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB
- The Marketing and Communications Assistant will be part of a small team of staff supporting the IEP Executive Team in delivering the key elements of the Institute’s Vision and Strategic Plan.
- As a Marketing and Communications Assistant, you will be responsible for helping to plan, implement, and manage our marketing activities. This includes creating and executing campaigns, analysing market trends, developing content, and building relationships with customers. You will also be responsible for tracking and reporting on our marketing efforts.
- The post holder will work under the guidance of the Marketing and Communications Partner supporting the delivery of all internal and external marketing and communications initiatives for the IEP and IEP Learning Academy.

Tasks
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Support with the delivery of all internal communications and people initiatives to further embed the IEP’s culture and values.
- Ensure articulation of the IEP’s desired image and position is consistent, both externally and internally.
- Assist with the preparation of all on and offline publications to ensure a consistent brand identity and tone of voice.
- Support the public relations function to respond to media requests where appropriate.
- Be an ambassador for all marketing and communications practices and procedures.
- Create draft content for websites, social media accounts, promotional materials, etc.
- Support the management of and update the content on the IEP website.
- Support the management of and publish approved content onto IEP social media platforms.
- Support the digital media function in relation to delivering key projects.
- Support with the delivery of designated marketing and communications projects as directed.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure successful execution of plans
- Ensure the IEP’s brand, vision and values are at the heart of all activities.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in marketing, communications and public relations to support IEP’s approach to innovation.
- Manage health and safety issues in your area of responsibility in line with the relevant section(s) of the relevant Health and Safety Policy.
- Comply with IEP confidentiality, GDPR and information security policies at all times.
- Ensure the CRM and other databases are up to date.
- Your duties may vary from time to time within the broad remit of your role and grade.
- You are required to undertake any such reasonable and appropriate duties.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- A passion for marketing and communications alongside a desire to learn and grow within the role.
- Knowledge of current trends in digital marketing and social media.
- Experience of email campaigns, social media and other digital marketing campaigns.
- An understanding of the employability sector with knowledge of the key stakeholders.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing and managing effective systems and procedures within a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Demonstrable expertise in planning, prioritising, and managing workload.
- An ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Highly organised with a good eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Good level of project management skills with demonstrable expertise in planning, prioritising, and managing workload.
- Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills (MS Office proficient, specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and WordPress.

Our Offer
- Hours – this is offered as a full-time role. (37.5 Hours per week Monday to Friday)
- Salary - £25,000 pa full-time rate
- Holiday – Year 1 - 20 days per year, from Year 2 - 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays
- Location – Working from home but requirement to occasionally travel to meetings where required across the UK. Some additional IEP meetings subject to discussion and agreement. All travel for IEP business will be paid for according to our expenses policy
