Are you interested in the market risks arising from multi-asset products? Do you enjoy thinking through complex structures and asking tough questions? Do you work well in a team? If so, you may be interested in our open position; we are looking for someone to:
understand the market risks taken by the Dynamic Strategies, Certificates and Commodities businesses within Solutions
review daily trading and market activity and resulting risk profile and revenues
analyse complex derivative transactions, challenge them where required and present them to senior risk officers for approval
keep in touch with the trading desk every day to understand market and trading activity
keep management and other control functions informed of any evolving key risks
work with colleagues around the globe on projects such as developing new risk frameworks and change initiatives
use your understanding of markets, products and positions to comment on market and risk developments

You’ll be working in the Solutions Market Risk team in London which is based on the trading floor (except in a pandemic) and forms part of Market Risk Control. The team oversees the Rates Options, Hybrids, Credit Solutions, Dynamic Strategies, Certificates and Commodities trading portfolios and provides and independent and comprehensive view of market risks to Senior Management. In your role, you will focus on the Dynamic Strategies, Certificates and Commodities areas and work with colleagues across Trading, Risk Control, Finance, Quants, Business Management and Operations to keep the bank safe.

You have:
a university degree in mathematics, economics, finance or another quantitative discipline
experience in markets-related roles, preferably market risk management, with Front Office experience preferred
an interest in and understanding of financial markets
excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics clearly and intuitively
strong technical and analytical skills allowing you to apply quantitative techniques to solve practical problems
accounting knowledge and/or programming skills would be beneficial
