We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our dynamic and hard-working team at the Port in Birkenhead.

This permanent role is to provide security services at the Port in Birkenhead on a full-time basis. Protecting the customer’s employees, property, and other assets in line with the relevant Assignment Instructions and site-specific customer requirements.
You will be working alongside other Officers at the Port, as well as the Stena Line employees and contractors, to ensure the area and the people within it are kept the safest they can be.
4 on 4 off 06:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00 split shifts
Birkenhead offers good public transport links - Conway Park and Birkenhead Central train stations running every 4 to 6 minutes to and from Liverpool Lime Street train station.
Alternatively, the use of either Queensway or Kingsway tunnel is a short 5-minute journey, where you can apply for a very reasonable, reduced toll charge. If you wish to use your vehicle, our site offers free on-site parking,

All applicants will be vetted in line with BS7858 and will require documentary evidence.
As a Maritime Security Officer you will:
- Search equipment in order to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken through the Port
- X-ray, screening and bag search
- Vehicle and Freight Searches
- Control of access to the Terminals
- Resolve queries from customers and assist them with their journey through the Port
- Read and adhere to security notices, completing documentation clearly and concisely on any incidents that may have occurred.
- Respond to and assist with emergency situations.
- Carry out patrols of areas to ensure that all locations are secure.
- Attend to and investigate reports of incidents.

Working 4 on 4 off 06:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00 split shifts
Essential Skills
- Right to work in the UK with a five-year checkable history
- SIA Licence (or willing to train to acheive this)
- Be fluent in spoken and written English
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
- Be able to communicate positively with customers, members of the public
Desired Skills
Emergency First Aid at Work certificate would be advantageous.
