Job description
Home Instead has a genuine passion for making a difference to peoples lives. We are a worldwide family of caring and compassionate people who believe that our older generation have the right to live in their own home for as long as they can, if they so wish.
We provide an amazing team of local Care Professionals to support the older generation within our communities to stay safe and independent within their own home. Our Care Professionals provide companionship, meal preparation, dementia support, help with personal hygiene routines, light housework and taking clients out to appointments and even having fun.
Margaret is a new client. She had heard from her old friend all about her personal Home Instead Care Professional. You see her friend had an accident a while back and wanted to stay at home so, to ensure she could stay independent, she started having visits from a Home Instead Care Professional to support her to get up and get ready for her day. Margaret has seen the positive and consistent relationship her friend has gained with the Care Professional. Her Care Professional even takes her friend out to garden centres and coffee shops, something Margaret never realised a Care Professional could do! Margaret never thought she would have care but this last year has taken its toll both physically and mentally and she has decided to get her own Home Instead Care Professional. She says she is reluctant but we know she is excited to form a new and caring relationship and go out to garden centres and coffee shops!. She also knows that having a Care Professional will give her daughter some reassurance.
Margaret is typical Client relationship you may form with clients. Her Superhero is a local person from the community who would love to chat, reminisce, be prompted to eat and drink healthily and to take their medication. They may also need help with hair washing or other personal hygiene routines. She is looking for kindness, compassion and consideration of herr age and experience in life. Could you be Margaret's new Care Professional or someone like her?
This role can be flexible...it can just be mornings or just evenings or a bit of both but it's definitely part time to fit around your own commitments. Please consider that client needs don't stop on week days so we are looking for Care Professionals who can commit to working a few hours on alternate weekends...we want you to have a life balance too!
