Job Summary

Marcus by Goldman Sachs is looking to expand our testing capability within the Digital Product team by hiring an Associate with 3-5 years experience – specifically our user acceptance/business acceptance testing (BAT). As a Test Manager you will be responsible for co-ordinating the end-to-end business testing processes. BAT will complement Engineering test strategies and run autonomously to ensure that project / release objectives are met efficiently and with consistently high quality.

You will define our approach to business testing, understand our overall testing capability and identify ways for us to leverage automation to test smarter. You will be the main person responsible for the execution of our business acceptance testing. At times, you may have support from other colleagues to conduct testing, and in these situations, we’ll be looking to you to coach and lead these people.

For enhancements and projects, you will partner with our Product Owners to define the scope of testing. You will plan all necessary steps to ensure that testing it carried out to the highest standard with an auditable trail of evidence. One key function is to ensure that our test environments are maintained in a ready state with customer and account data which can be used to test multiple scenarios.

Your goal is to identify and escalate any anomalies during testing. You will also take responsibility to co-ordinate test resource (where needed) and provide assurance to business stakeholders that we are comfortable to release into production.

This is a new role within our team, so it is a great opportunity for the right person to make a mark and build a very important function to better serve our customers and minimise risk to Marcus UK.

Responsibilities

  • Set the Marcus UK business acceptance testing strategy for the delivery of all digital change
  • Provide technical advice and assurance on test automation solutions, finding ways to help us enhance test coverage is a smarter way
  • Input into the Change Management process helping to plan in business acceptance test phases with the appropriate level of assurance
  • Work with the Product Owners to decide on test approach and coverage for each change we face
  • Prepare environments to conduct test scenarios
  • Educate, coach and lead other non-testing experts across the business to test to your standards
  • Build a robust approach to testing ensure a complete audit trail and a repeatable, solid set of test scenarios
  • Prepare test outcome reporting and share this with key stakeholders and leadership
  • Work with Engineering to identify issues in a timely manner and retest as appropriate
  • Play a pivotal role early in the cycle to ensure requirements are testable and all scenarios are considered at the Design phase

Skills

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in test strategy and execution
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of software testing – strategy and execution
  • Experience of planning testing to ensure most efficient use of resources and time
  • Experience of testing within an Agile framework
  • Experience of business acceptance/user acceptance testing – ensuring that test cases provide the right coverage
  • Experience of working with test automation solutions
  • Experience of leading and coaching others to test
  • Experience of testing within financial services (or other highly regulated industries)
  • Experience of testing web experiences, mobile apps experiences and agent systems
  • Strong communication skills both verbally/non-verbally
  • Detail orientated with an ability to clearly communicate complex technical test scripts to junior employees
  • A strong technical background
  • Highly organised individual
  • Ability to be flexible to support off-cycle releases that require to be tested as priority
  • Excellent time management skills to align to deadlines
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence is preferable
