Job description

Summit Chairs Ltd are looking for a bright and enthusiastic new members of the Manufacturing team as well as Apprentices who are willing to learn.

The manufacturing team member role is based in our Trowbridge office and is a full time permanent position. As part of the manufacturing team the role includes general manufacturing and liaising with internal departments. Manufacturing team members report to the Team Leaders.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Experience in manufacturing, commercial upholstery would be beneficial but not essential.

· Always on top of production activities, these operators control machine functions and processes, manipulating devices and gadgets to enhance production output quality

· Inspect equipment, structures, and production materials to identify the reason for errors in production and other defects that may arise

· Work on production line with consistent speed and accuracy

· Inform team leader of any stock issues

· Notify of any substandard components

· Assemble products and parts to high standard, following production specifications

· Observe all safety guidelines and report any concerns to team leaders

· Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently

· Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care

· Work cooperatively with all areas of production to meet quotas and goals

· Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality

· Maintain a clean and safe working area

· Follow all written and verbal instructions

· Attend all safety and production training

· To understand and implement the core values of the business.

· Comply with all Health and Safety Polices

Additional Responsibilities

· Cover for Team Leader when absent.

· Responsible for the upkeep and serving of all glue booths.

· Cover the goods in door in storeman’s absence and advise relevant person if forklift required

· To help with stock takes as and when required.

General Requirements

· To communicate effectively with all departments.

· Attending meetings as and when required.

· Answer role specific emails & telephone.

· Provide data to the business as an when required.

· Support other teams as and when required, ie holiday cover

· To understand and implement the core values of the business.
