Kawneer UK Limited is currently in search of a Manufacturing Shift Leader to join us in Runcorn.

Primary Responsibilities
- Management of the area to ensure the business objectives on Safety, Quality, Volume, Delivery, Cost and People are met on a day to day basis.
- To actively take part and look for Continuous Improvement opportunities and to work in conjunction with CI engineer to drive completion
- The Shift Leader will take full responsibility and accountability for their section and all corresponding activities and support.
- To ensure that all company rules and directives are being adhered to.
- To plan and lead any Kaizen activities.
Key Objectives
- To own the process and be the responsible and accountable person for that section
- To ensure that all PM, TPM and maintenance functions are up to date. This includes planning in PM and TPM activities
- To conduct any investigation for incidents
- To conduct R&M analysis
- To review any expenditure and to forecast any future expenditure on their section
- To run daily and weekly meetings and ensure visual management boards are up to date
- To ensure that the Versatility charts are kept up to date
- To facilitate and schedule the training of personnel within their sections
- To work with Production Support to schedule loadings
- To lead the development/writing of any safe systems of work for their area and to support other areas where required
- To conduct layered Audits, Risk Assessments, and H&S audits
- To raise Purchase Orders to any supplies, parts, that are required for the running of their section
- To maintain and plan any training requirements, using Training Matrix.
- To be accountable to their section achieving the required KPI's
- To ensure that LOTOV is fully trained in their sections and to plan training to cover skills gaps
- To put forward team members for rewards ad recognition awards
- To conduct interviews for any vacancies, supporting other areas with this activity
- To take part and lead any change management within their area
- To conduct performance management reviews for their teams
- To monitor PPE usage and ensure PPE compliance at all times
- To ensure that any pre-shift checks have been conducted.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor others
- Experience of carrying out investigations and disciplinaries
- Sound knowledge of PPE requirements
- Proficient in the use of Oracle
- Excellent communication skills
- Result driven
- Organised and focused approach
- Acting within the Arconic values
- Trained in the necessary Health & Safety requirements
- Good understanding of LEAN manufacturing techniques
