Manufacturing Shift Engineer Leicester, England
Job description
Vittles Foods is a well established food manufacturer producing high quality frozen and chilled desserts for UK retailers. We are looking to strengthen the site engineering team to support maintenance of production technology as well as contributing to health and safety compliance. This role allows scope to participate in key engineering projects and continuous improvement program.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all manufacturing processes and associated technology/equipment on site.
- Ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed, conducting audits to ensure legal compliance.
- Managing external contractors and permit to work procedures.
- Ensuring maintenance schedules are achieved and recorded.
- Strive to maximise plant productivity and engaging in actions to deliver quality production.
- Ensuring KPIs are monitored and continuous improvements are actioned.
- Supporting technical and production departments to deliver projects.
- Maintain high standards of work environment and manage engineering inventory.
- Diagnosing problems on technology and providing/implementing recommendations.
- Liaising with other engineers to develop cost effective plans.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have relevant mechanical and electrical engineering qualifications, with 3 years experience working in a food manufacturing environment. They will also have knowledge of health and safety regulations.
We are looking for someone with strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, who has the ability to make decisions under pressure.
