Manufactring Salesperson
Jenks & Cattell Engineering Ltd are looking to expand their team with a candidate who has a B2B manufacturing service sales background and is looking to progress a career within an SME where further training and guidance can be provided and support is available from our team of engineers.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the diversification of industry and increasing sales across the business with a focus of expanding our customer base. The business has a continuous growth and staff retention whilst providing quality for the customers.
An existing knowledge of sheet metal engineering and manufacturing and an understanding of the presswork industry to identifying the best methods of manufacturing and industries which are suitable to the business would enable the candidate to hit the ground running and would be looked at favourably.
The candidate:
· Mechanical engineering background would be advantageous but not essential as the sales role can be supported by our engineering team
· Excellent communication skills
· Confident
· Excellent computer-based skills, particularly Microsoft
· Sales and customer relations experience is essential
The role:
· Working as a team, converting leads gained via marketing and exhibitions and build and maintain relationships
· Chasing leads and developing key accounts
· Conduct site tours with customers to build relationships
· Ability and confidence to complete customer visits, both on and off-site, perform the company presentation to a corporate level, complete quality audits and company shop floor tours.
· Conduct market research and gathering competitor intel
· Negotiating and closing deals
· Liaise with internal engineers to hand over new business projects.
· Understand the customer base, with the ability to grow current customers and gain new customers.
· Expected to run and grow accounts up to the value of £2m
· Confidently communicate with all colleagues of all departments to resolve issues, and feedback customer comments
· Being confident within customer facing situations, in both positive and negative situations
· Expectation to do what is necessary to achieve sales including customer visits, cold calls, emails, exhibitions and travelling to support customer requirement
· Sales reporting to be completed as per the business requirements
· The candidate is expected to perform excellent account management, from receiving enquiries, obtaining quotations from the estimating team, to handing over orders to the Project Manager. The candidate will look after each customer from start to finish, and always looking to grow each account to its very highest potential. After sales care is essential including regular visits and telephone contact
Full training provided on our manufacturing services and CRM system
Working hours are Monday-Thursday 7.30am/8.30am-4pm/5pm, and Friday 7.30am/8.30am-12.30pm/1.30pm. Working from home is possible on certain days, with at least 2 office days per week. You will be expected to travel to customers both nationally and internationally and attend exhibitions away from home for short periods of time.
