Sales Manager - To drive rapid growth in UK and EMEA
Elevate global profile in the UK & EMEA regions to capture attractive revenue opportunities. Having the ability to achieve sales goals through strategic selling, building, and maintaining key relationships with customers and implementing sales initiatives.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop credible customer/program-based market, capture plans with specific objectives and milestones for targeting and securing new work packages, from both existing and new customers based in primarily UK & EMEA
- Take responsibility for executing those plans such as planning, conducting, and following up on customer visits as well as supporting marketing campaigns tailored for customers primarily in the UK & EMEA, through the championing of the CRM database and working closely with their marketing agency
- Prepare and distribute monthly activity reports containing accurate and salient information on the status of key sales and marketing activities in each monthly period discussing successes, failures, opportunities, and progress against goals in achieving agreed market capture plans
- Provide timely feedback on market, competitor and customer intelligence
- Work with the Senior Management team to define strategic priorities within UK & EMEA with respect to growth opportunities, and working as part of the Sales team on strategic business development initiatives
- Taking ownership and executing strategic plan to support the continued growth of the business
- Liaise with Senior Team on the preparation of revenue line forecasts as part of the normal annual budgeting cycle (and to support any ad-hoc reforecasting exercises), ensuring these are consistent with higher level market capture plans
- Project manage and over-see major bid responses for UK & EMEA market, particularly ensuring a uniform professionalism of response, conformance against RFQ stipulated requirements, risk assessment and initial contract review (where relevant) as well as providing direction and applying judgement on bid pricing
- Liaising with the Sales team on all NPI projects, as required
- Diligently following up and responding in a timely and professional manner to customer queries and requests
- To assist, working closely with the sales team on the formulation of commercial pricing strategies for entrepreneurial growth and profit maximisation
- Support global business highly, professionally and with gravitas in negotiations with existing and potential new customers
- Supporting and actively taking part in marketing events as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- An understanding of the ways in which large UK & EMEA general engineering OEMs and tier ones conduct their business around bid management and related RFQ requirements
- Familiarity with KPIs and performance metrics to measure and monitor progress in achieving objectives
- Comfortable with the hands-on use of IT tools (particularly Microsoft Office) and CRM systems
- Reasonable knowledge of basic engineering concepts and a good understanding of the manufacturing processes used to produce gaskets, seals & electro-mechanical assembly
- Familiar with common approvals and the basic requirements of Quality Management Systems equivalent to the latest revision of ISO9001
- Must be responsive and driven, with a strong desire to achieve personal success/Goals and a keen sense of competitiveness
- Must be intelligent, articulate, charismatic, and possess good emotional intelligence to get the best out relationships with customer and colleagues
- Must be able to manage changing priorities and ambiguity whilst remaining calm, controlled and professional
- Must demonstrate ability to forge strong, trusting relationships with key customer contacts and mutually supportive relationships internally
- Must be well organised and used to domestic and international travel

- To grow market share/opportunities within the sectors we operate
- To help increase RFQ pipeline and win rate
- To promote businesses primarily in the UK & EMEA
- To provide proposal guidance for bids within UK & EMEA
- Take the lead on managing new business opportunities through the CRM system and supporting the internal Team to meet bid deadlines
- To share UK & EMEA market and customer intelligence
- To introduce structured market capture planning, and regular sales and marketing activity reporting
