Title: Manufacturing Manager
Reports to: Senior Manufacturing Manager
Job Purpose: Supervise day to day manufacturing line in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Ensure smooth production operation during shift. Manage up to 100 + employees. Must have LEAN or KAIZEN experience.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Supervise day to day production operations (machine shop, welding, pre-built, assembly and fabrication) in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Hire, train and coach associates in conjunction with Team leaders
- Responsible for shift schedule: work station assignments/rotations, associate training, associate vacations, associate breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent associates and shift rotations.
- Contact for on call service in weekends.
- Advise and work with corporate engineering for custom made product design
- Approve manufacturing feasibility of custom made products
- Responsible to meet manufacturing goals: On time delivery + quality targets
- Responsible for product quality Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.
- Manage for Daily Improvements. (MDI)
- Communicate with other team leaders and customer service to meet or exceed customer’s requests.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment. (5S)
- Responsible for confirmation of time sheets (HRIS)
Education and Experience:
- HSD or GED required, College degree preferred
- Two to five years of manufacturing supervisory experience
- Experience in manufacturing of home and hearth products
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery
- Business writing skills required.
