Job description
Job Purpose:
The role is responsible for the delivery of new manufacturing processes and equipment, utilising SAS’s New Equipment Introduction (NEI) process. They will work to optimise existing manufacturing processes in all areas of the site by implementing lean principles to improve productivity, achieve quality standards, and to remove process wastes. Through the creation of effective plans and stakeholder management, they will ensure that project timelines and costs remain on track. The ability to solve problems and use technical knowledge to identify the root cause of problems is essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate will be driven to succeed, self-motivated, and a natural problem-solver with the capacity to act swiftly under pressure, prioritise their workload, and manage multiple activities at once. They should be a strong team player and contributor who can work well with colleagues to produce results in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while balancing strong attention to detail and an execution-focused mindset.
Main Responsibilities:
-Analyse the capabilities of the current manufacturing processes to identify potential improvements.
-Maximise Operational Efficiency. Maintain the current systems and equipment through analysis, troubleshooting and improvement.
-Utilise the NEI process to control the implementation of new processes and equipment.
-Develop new manufacturing processes. Conceive, develop, and manage capital expenditure projects for new manufacturing processes and technology in support of strategic objectives.
-Liaise with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure delivery, installation, & commissioning of all new equipment is managed effectively.
-Measure and report on new processes and equipment, post implementation, to ensure expected outcomes are realised.
-Lead improvement projects, including management of all internal & external stakeholders. Provide the focal point for all project related communications and activity.
-Instil lean principles and best practice throughout the workforce
-Instil a culture of continuous improvement and structured problem solving.
-Support production by resolving day-to-day manufacturing issues through the use of innovative solutions. Apply appropriate problem-solving tools & strategies where required.
-Design and maintenance of tooling/jigs/fixtures as and when required.

Salary: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
