To deliver this overall capability, they have developed its skills in project and supply chain management and put in place all the necessary quality systems and processes to allow them to deliver projects to the standards expected by our customers

Responsibilities

• Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development
• Design new systems and processes and create facilities & methods to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations
• Create shop floor layouts and cell designs
• Identify and assist with the design of fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks
• Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions and process documentation
• Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions
• Maintain statistical data and produce KPI’s
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout
• Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities
• Carry out FMEAs, (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) process documentation and implement improvements
• Investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training
• Poka Yoke (error proofing) where possible to prevent errors

Essential Skills

• Experience of working within an Automotive/Manufacturing environment with relevant experience as a manufacturing/Production Engineer within a fast paced, forward-thinking business
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers, and other service providers
• Ability to manage one’s own time and prioritise workload accordingly
• Be an effective team member, working with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output
• Experience in PFMEA’s, control plans and standard operations sheets
• Proven track record in problem solving and the development and implementation of new processes within a production and manufacturing environment
• Organised, Methodical but Flexible approach to workload
• Experience of automotive product quality assurance systems (IATF16949, ISO9001, 5S, TPM, KPI’s)
• Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach
• Understand lean manufacturing.

Experience and knowledge of Carbon Fibre would be desirable.
