WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and improving manufacturing processes & facilities to enable the Halewood facility ( Liverpool ) for the introduction our new electric architecture. There will also be a requirement for travel to our West Midlands locations
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and facilities for automotive manufacture.
o Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
o Attend programme meetings at all levels and present where applicable.
o Feasibility of all designs to suit manufacturing build requirements - Design for Assembly (DFA).
o Management and delivery of all new/modified facilities.
o Build process strategy for manufacturing.
o Planning, developing and implementation of all written Processes for manufacturing.
o Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
o Supplier selection and vendor management.
o Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate.
o Support and lead virtual build events, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
o Support physical builds at Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
o Engineering change approval (WERS, PACN, Alerts).
o PFMEA creation and development.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
o Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry.
o Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, facilities, and quality standards.
o Proficiency in CAD software and experience with 3D modelling.
o Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
o Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
o Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
o Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
o Solid understanding of Agile project management and Scrum.
You will also need a flexible approach to job responsibilities, working hours and paid overtime to meet project deadlines.
