WHAT TO EXPECT
This exciting role will be to provide engineering and technical support to design and develop the manufacturing strategy to enable the successful launch of products into our vehicle portfolio, ensuring manufacturing feasibility, Design for Assembly (DFA), and compliance with the Bill of Process (BOP).
This will include the creation of processes, delivery of tools, jigs & fixtures, quality, data analysis and reporting of major issues, support of cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects, and the tracking of resolution through to completion.
While working in a team of competent engineers, you will collaborate across functions to ensure we have established compliance with the BOP to deliver processes that meet our basic minute value (BMV) and quality targets. It is also important for us to share best practices across the platforms and between manufacturing plants to ensure we employ the best processes available wherever possible.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will use the application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles and will attend programme meetings at all levels and present where applicable. You will be responsible for planning and developing all written Processes/ Facilities for manufacturing as well as the planning and development of all tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing. You will manage technical issues as well as virtual build events and escalate and raise issues where appropriate.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have previous experience in delivering new products into a manufacturing facility as well as experience applying lean manufacturing principles. You will be an enthusiastic pro active problem solver and a self-motivated team player.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Relevant previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques
- Flexible approach to job responsibilities and working hours
- An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, responds constructively to new ideas and input in a changing business environment
- Competent IT skills within Microsoft office
Desirable:
- Knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase
- Strong project management skills
- Working knowledge of Jira and Agile
- Ability to use CAD
