The Virtual Analysis Engineer is a coordinated member of our Product Interface (PI) organization. In this role, you would be applying math tools & utilities to assess Product compliance to Manufacturing requirements (MRs) for Weldability, Sealing, Gun Access, Part Handling, etc. at each templated Product Math synch point. In addition, you would ‘manually’ analyze Product Designs for Manufacturability/MR compliance where math tools/utilities do not exist.
Additional responsibilities include:
Build and post reports of issues identified and review with PI/Stamping/Mfg Eng Teams
Build Key Performance Indicator Chart (KPI) for Virtual Assessment Gates
Support Manufacturing Studies – use software tools to analyze proposed product placement within manufacturing facilities
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
Experience with Siemens TeamCenter, TcVIS, NX, C++, Visual Basic, Tecnomatix (Process Simulate/Designer), and other programming languages
Ability to quickly learn and apply new software and math tools
Strong analytical abilities to address sophisticated issues
Strong interpersonal skills to optimally work remotely
Remote training/workload sharing with global VE & PI partners and remote collaboration with customers (Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering and Suppliers)
Facilitator/leadership skills
Ability to self-manage workload, set priorities, and ensure work is completed on time meeting customer’s requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Body Shop launch experience
Experience in BIW tool design and build
Familiar with math-based processes
Robot programming and simulation experience
Familiar with General Motors North America (GMNA) Manufacturing Standards
Welding, tool design, Body Manufacturing Requirements
Knowledge of Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP) timing elements and deliverables
Work Hours can significantly fluctuate based on the number of Vehicle Programs supporting and their stage of development.
