We are now recruiting for an Aircraft Manufacturing Technician to join our friendly and productive team where no two days are the same.
This role makes a difference on a global scale. More than 400 Britten-Norman Islander aircraft are currently in service globally in a variety of roles, serving, protecting, and connecting communities. Our airframes are modified to meet these challenges and through-life maintenance services are provided to keep our aircraft flying safely, all which takes place at our MRO base at Lee-on-the-Solent. Using your developed skills and working in a team of talented aircraft technicians, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that provide variety and challenge.
Training and progression are always a priority to Britten-Norman and this role will give you the opportunity to undertake an immense amount of training and qualifications to progress your career within the aerospace industry.
Primary Tasks
Main tasks will include but are not limited to:
· To carry out production line fitting, repair, overhaul and upgrade of aircraft from detail to final installation stages.
· Be responsible for ensuring quality standards are maintained to the highest level in compliance with the Company Quality Assurance Procedures.
Key Skills and Attributes
· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
· Excellent communication skills
· To be accountable for ensuring that outputs, service and KPI measures are maintained
· Proactive in approached to resolving problems and developing new systems/procedures
· Flexible in approach to work
Minimum Qualification Requirements
· 5 GCSES at grade 9-4 or A*-C or Equivalent
· Aircraft related engineering apprenticeship or Armed Forces equivalent
· Level 3 Qualification in a related subject
· Any relevant Lean Manufacturing qualification
Required Experience
· Experience with aircraft production repair and overhaul
· Experience of working to engineering drawings and specifications
· High level of Health and Safety awareness
· Small, fixed wing commuter size aircraft experience
· Understand of lean manufacturing
