Position Title: Manager International Security - Europe and UK (LHR)
Position Summary
The Manager International Security – Europe and UK represents JetBlue Airways with respect to all Corporate Security matters that impact its business operations in the European region, specifically in the United Kingdom. This position reports directly to the Director of International Operations of Corporate Security and acts as the Corporate Security Department’s chief representative with all foreign law enforcement, intelligence and regulatory agencies and airport security officials located within this region. This position assists all JetBlue Corporate Security processes, procedures and investigations and supports our Airports General Managers and other JetBlue internal stakeholders located in this geographic area of responsibility.
Essential Responsibilities
- Identifies all security related risks, formulates mitigation strategies and makes recommendations to senior leadership with respect to developing security policy for the region
- Develops and maintains strong liaison and business relationships with all foreign law enforcement, intelligence and regulatory agencies
- Maintains currency of knowledge on all demographic, political and social issues/changes that may affect JetBlue business operations in country
- Develops and maintains effective communication and liaison with United States Embassy officials relative to security issues and threats in country
- Maintains effective communication and close working relations with all JetBlue country and area General Managers and other internal stakeholders to ensure that their security needs are met and all station security related issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner
- Establishes effective partnerships with all foreign Airport Authority Security officials and ensures compliance with their respective security programs
- Assists in the development and updating of all of JetBlue’s Emergency Planning, Crisis Management and Business Continuity Plans indigenous to the region
- Submits frequent, accurate and timely reports, verbal and written, to senior leadership that facilitate executive decision-making and enhance the protection of Customers, Crewmembers (all JetBlue employees are referred to as Crewmembers, including Pilots, Inflight, and Airports employees) and company assets
- Directly supports the Vice President of Corporate Security with additional security service as required
- Ensure adherence to all Safety and Security regulations
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- Five (5) years of previous work experience in the law enforcement, intelligence, regulatory or private security sector, which must include at least three (3) years in a management role
- Ability to understand, read, write and speak English fluently
- Proficient in situational assessment and the detailed reporting of events
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer
- Willingness and availability to travel on a frequent and unplanned basis
- Available for overnight travel (50%)
- Willing to travel and/or work variable hours, including weekends and irregular shifts
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid airports secure area badge (e.g. ID Pass)
- In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Must be able to acquire a valid visa to travel to the US
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically and coherently at various levels within the organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization & attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the country is required. This position is not eligible for visa or work permit sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Knowledge of the structure, operations and functions of both US and European governments
- Intermediate proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English
- Demonstrated competencies in leadership, production of written work product, management and the ability to task and promote staff development
- Ability to effectively interface with all JetBlue operational components and foreign government and private Business partners
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other IT business “suites”
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, UK DfT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
