Fortegra Corporation, an insurance services company, provides insurance-related products and distribution and administration services in the United States. The company was formerly known as Life of the South Corporation and changed its name to Fortegra Corporation in 2008. Fortegra Corporation was incorporated in 1981 and is based in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Manager of IT for Europe will lead the current team spanning multiple business units overseeing system administration, IT infrastructure, device management, security, and help desk operations. They will mature the European technology team, practices and operational standards. The role will take the lead in finding opportunities to consolidate operations and technology amongst multiple acquisitions. Be responsible for implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), make sure service level agreements (SLAs) are defined and met, and be the point person for system implementations in the region. This is a global team with growing presence in Europe and the USA, led from our headquarters in Jacksonville, FL.
Responsibilities for Manager of IT - Europe
- Coordinate IT operations between the Fortegra operations in Europe
- Develop strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems)
- Coordinate with CISO and Chief Compliance Officer on security and regulatory matters
- Develop and hire team members
- Develop, manage, and track the European IT department's annual budget
- Consult senior-level stakeholders across the various Fortegra organizations to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology
- Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance
- Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
- Provide direction, guidance, and training to IT staff
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
- 3+ years of people management
- Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge of project management principles
