Joining Information Security

Our scope ranges from security assessments, architecture, governance and risk advisory, through resilience, cyber threat intelligence and incident response, to supporting PMI Functions, Markets, and Platforms (e.g. Finance, People & Culture, Operations, Consumer or Product) and building an organizational security culture.

What’s the purpose of this role?

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to join our dynamic team at Philip Morris International. As an InfoSec Operational Excellence Manager, you will be responsible for various aspects of infosec reporting, operational performance and capability development activities to ensure the effectiveness of our information security services and processes. You will collaborate with various partners from the front and back-end teams, drive the development of reporting functionalities, and provide guidance on cybersecurity measures.

Responsibilities:
  • Define, design, and develop comprehensive information security reporting mechanisms for multiple channels and partners such as executive teams, operational and management teams, internal and external partners.
  • Contribute to a team of IT and cybersecurity professionals and coordinate their activities to ensure the successful execution of operational excellence initiatives.
  • Collaborate with front end and back-end InfoSec teams to define reporting objectives, scope, and methodologies that align with business needs and compliance/conformance requirements.
  • Assess the various audiences for security awareness level and develop custom engagement strategies to facilitate effective requirements gathering and partner management.
  • Identify and prioritise gaps in operational performance of InfoSec service delivery with the aim to support/promote continuous improvement of services and processes.
  • Analyse InfoSec existing capabilities and provide recommendations for improving our capabilities and developing our people accordingly.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and ensure that reporting methodologies and practices reflect industry standard processes.
  • Partner with internal team members to develop effective metrics to measure our cyber risk posture.
  • Foster a culture of effective reporting and promote standard processes among employees through defined and communicated ways of working.
  • Maintain relationships with external vendors and third-party security firms to augment internal capabilities as necessary.
  • Handle budget required for related activities including working with Procurement and Finance to engage third party consultants, if needed.
  • Collaborate with other cybersecurity teams to ensure a broad view to cybersecurity reporting and service delivery.
  • Ensuring Information Security strategy is aligned with the overall PMI strategy and supports the mission and vision of PMI
  • Coaching and developing team members through sharing of experience and knowledge, as well as managing the performance and development of other team members.
  • As a manager, we expect you to understand the business issues and to be able to translate complex cyber risk issues into straightforward, credible, jargon free advice to our partners, internal and external; and delivering the support they require.

Dimensions:
  • Manage 0-2 employees & Supervise 0-5 contractors.
  • Part of a team of 15-20 employees within a function of ~120 employees.
  • Office based at least 40% of the month.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years information security and/or related technology experience and a proven track record in information security and risk management, including experience assisting organizations in implementing appropriate IT Security practices.
  • 3+ Years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, defining, implementing, and reporting on cybersecurity strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, IT, agile project management principles, frameworks, and industry standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, ISF, SAFe, ITIL).
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing executive information security reports for senior management teams, internal and external partners, and other interested parties.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team of IT and cybersecurity professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and driving the vision, mission, values, and mandate for an information security function.
  • Demonstrated experience in working across first and/or second line of defence functions including business and IT, engaging, and collaborating on information security programs of work.
  • Expertise in using industry-standard frameworks for assessing and benchmarking information security services.
  • Considerable writing proficiency, story-telling and oral presentation skills, in English. Analytical skills, conceptual design skills and decision-making skills
  • Desired experience in data analytics environments and/or use of analytical tools such as Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft SSIS, SQL server.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams and present complex technical information to non-technical team members.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CGEIT, CISM, CRISC, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Excellent command of English, any additional languages are a plus.
  • Practical experience in Agile/DevOps organizations and cultures
