Job Description Summary

The Analytics team is responsible for assessing, communicating, and developing our management of Funding and Liquidity (F&L) risk across the Group. An exciting and technically focused team of 5 people, it lies at the heart of the GCT function and sits within the fast-paced Treasury Markets area reporting to the Treasury Markets Director and Deputy Group Treasurer.
Job Description
The role is based at LBG’s London headquarters and key team responsibilities include:
- First-line F&L Risk Management including the setting of Risk Appetite and accountability for LBG’s Early Warning Indicators.
- Development and presentation, at governing committees, of cutting-edge F&L analysis and data analytics
- Management of the F&L relationship with the PRA and engagement with them regularly to respond to queries, review analysis and influence policy
- Support businesses in their management of F&L Risk including assessment of new products and identification of risks and opportunities
What will you be doing?
As a Manager in the team, you will have the opportunity to provide analysis and insight across F&L activities, combining production and analysis of F&L risk with partnering with other GCT teams notably GCT funding desks, Liquidity Policy, Planning and Reporting teams.
You will have direct analyst responsibilities including leading on:
- F&L analytics production including liquidity metrics, investment compositions, variance analysis, trending, horizon scanning and presentation to key stakeholders (inc. Group Risk, Funding desks, and GCT management)
- Use and development of data and analytical tools to model how liquidity and funding impacts the Group, exploring better ways of presenting information, handling data, identifying trends, absorbing and developing new concepts, and drawing conclusions. Translating acquired technical knowledge into analysis and ideas.
- Real-time decision making on business F&L risk management (Retail and CB), senior manager escalation, and analytics development.
- Engaging with key stakeholders including Group Risk, other Treasury Markets desks and facilitating discussion/driving action at F&L Forums with key peers.
Contributing/supporting across the team on:
- Strategic input into F&L senior management policy papers (Board, GALCO, CFO, CEO)
- Engagement with Bank of England, PRA
- GCT data strategy and technology agenda including future Cube and Power BI solutions
The role sees exposure with the Heads of other GCT desks and the Treasury Markets Director, as well as engagement with the Group Treasurer. We work across businesses with exposures to management within both Retail and CB, Risk and wider Finance teams.
What skills and experience can you bring to the role?
We're looking for individuals who are interested in exploring Treasury, are keen to develop their career in Lloyds Banking Group and are interested in/have:
- Strong analytical and data skills, with an ability to absorb concepts, problem solve and develop solutions autonomously.
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in data analytics both in terms of handling data, manipulating it, and drawing conclusions. Use of statistical techniques and experience in SQL, VBA, Power BI/Tableau an advantage albeit not a pre-requisite.
- A real interest in and commitment to Treasury and the principles behind F&L and what drives them as well as understanding of LBG’s balance sheet/key businesses and the F&L risk inherent within them.
- Strong communication skills. The ability to break down and explain technical information and concepts clearly and thoughtfully.
- An ability to collaborate and pro-actively engage with colleagues within the team & key stakeholders across the Group.
- Able to prioritise and manage time optimally.
- Liquidity reporting knowledge beneficial
