A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MANAGEMENT ANALYST

As a Management Analyst, you spend your day conducting organizational studies and evaluations, designing systems and procedures, conducting work simplification studies, and preparing operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively. Your work typically involves managing and monitoring assigned key projects, activities, initiatives, and related correspondence; conducts implementation, evaluation, data reporting, process analysis, and action planning, as assigned. Your job is essential to the city, and you participate in the support of key City functions such as strategic planning, budget process, purchasing and expenditure oversight, business operations, performance management, ordinance and policy development. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include researching and addressing reported stakeholder and public issues, coordinate with applicable departments and resources, and conduct and communicate necessary follow-up and response. You serve as a representative of the City at various civic, community, City Council and City meetings and serves as liaison between City Manager's office, stakeholders, residents, and committees, as assigned. You also provide administrative and general clerical support; schedule and coordinate meetings; answer and respond to department inquiries; and prepare documents and correspondence. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MANAGEMENT ANALYST

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years' experience in local government, project management, development and/or municipal policy may be substituted for the above requirements.
  • Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the city's expense
