Job description
- Support the provision of monthly reports to KHP Commercial Clinical Trials;
- Maintenance of staffing establishment records and reconciling staffing records between the university’s information systems;
- Processes and/or reviews journals, budget virements and forecast movements. Journals will include month end accruals, ad hoc requests and facility recharges;
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner in the production of management reports for the directorates connected to the role, including quarterly reports for the Core Facilities and the Biological Services Unit;
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner by responding to simple ad hoc requests and queries from the directorates connected to the role;
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner with the preparation of income distribution journals and payroll requests;
- Providing cover for other roles within the management accounting community;
- Supporting the development of processes and tools for use within the management accounting community.
- Adhering to King’s policies and procedures which are published on the HR webpages;
- Learning and applying proper professional standards in all aspects of the job;
- Complying with any reasonable request from a manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description;
- Flexibility to move between different parts of the organisation, using standardised tools and approaches.
- Highly numerate, as evidenced by: Qualifications in Mathematics at GCSE and A’ Level, or equivalent; or AAT Level 3, or equivalent
- Confident working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (particularly Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Experience of working collaboratively
- Methodical and detail-oriented, maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner

- Good degree at undergraduate (BA, BSc) level or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of the UK higher education funding environment
- Experience of working with an accounting package, for financial processing and/or reporting
- Proactive with the ability to work independently as well as delivering within a team
