Main responsibilities of the role:
- Prepare accounts to trial balance level for all companies in the group.
- Manage prepayments and accruals.
- Post intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany balances.
- Take ultimate responsibility for the purchase ledger and all the postings within it.
- Supervise the Accounts Assistant and drive process efficiencies.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, input of invoices and the posting of bank receipts.
- Run and review aged creditors report for all companies at month end.
- Cover weekly payroll on an adhoc basis.
- Ensure all accounts are reconciled.
- Assist with audit and year end queries for all companies
- Prepare and post journals for credit card statements
- Reconcile and post petty cash.
- Import direct debits file daily when the accounts assistant is on annual leave.
Key Skills & Experience required:
- Advanced Excel skills
- AAT Level 4 qualified preferred but not essential
- Experience of managing staff in a busy purchase ledger environment
- Some exposure to payroll
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects at a fast pace and deliver results timely and accurately.
