To support our exciting adventure and growth plans we are looking for an optimistic finance professional who is early in their career and looking to continue their experience with an evolving local business, based at Brewpoint, Bedford.
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, this role will be assisting in day-to-day financial activities and period end closure for the UK managed division specifically and also supporting the wider management accounting team as required.
The Role:
Ensure Finance influence and support the Finance Business Partner in decision-making processes, delivering commercial insight by producing the relevant information, analysis of different scenarios, challenging the assumptions and determining the risks
- Completion of weekly processing of sales and expense data in addition to assisting with weekly reconciliation of cash banking variances
- Weekly compiling and reporting of pub profitability from internal stock systems highlighting any key variances or concerns to the Finance Business Partner
- Completion of the month end and the timely and accurate production of Managed House P&Ls including analysis on the performance variances to budget, latest forecast and prior year
- Balance sheet reconciliations completed with the relevant supporting paperwork and commentary
- Communication and assisting the Finance Business Partner with queries and data/system problems
- Continuous review and monitoring of the incumbent processes within the division.
- Assess existing reporting processes, propose improvements for streamlining and efficiencies point of view
- Works cross functionally across Finance and Operations to reduce duplication and improve efficiency in our reports and processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the conduct of investigations for ad-hoc analysis
Experience essential:
- Studying towards, or hold, a relevant accounting qualification
- Intermediate Excel skills, able to work with formulas and build reports
- Ability to communicate confidentially with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A “can-do” attitude willing to support other team members as required
- Organised with the ability to prioritise work in an effective way
- The ability to work independently and to tight deadlines
