Job description

We are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant (part qualified) for a well established multi-site retail business that supply specialist tools and machinery based at their Head Office in Nottingham City Centre.

This is a full time permanent role working Monday to Thursday 8.30am–6pm and Friday 8.30am-5pm offering a salary £35-40k per annum dependent on experience. This is an office based role in Central Nottingham, and is within easy reach of Nottingham train station, Tram links and has available parking close by.

As Assistant Management Accountant, you will be reporting into the Management Accountant working with a busy finance team optimizing the efficiency and performance of the Management Accounts function through active administrative support to the Management Accountant. Key duties will include:

Assist in the timely production of the monthly Management Accounts
Assisting stores with day to day accounting problems as and when required
Ongoing management of Finance Agreements, replying to queries from stores and reconciliation of payments received.
Month end ledger close off assistance when required
Maintaining cash flow spreadsheet
Month end bank reconciliations
Monthly commission reports for payroll purposes
Management of third party rent payments
Ensure timely claims of supplier rebates and setting of new rebate agreements with suppliers
Assistance with the preparation of VAT return
Approval of manual sales invoices/ credit notes
Approval of new sales ledger accounts
Maintain the administration of insurance claims on a timely basis
Assistance with information requests from internal/ external auditors
Review of clocking in and out to ensure that people attend on time
Approval of holiday requests in timely manner
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

Part qualified CIMA or ACCA or equivalent
Previous industry experience collating management accounts information
Good working knowledge of month end processes
Proficient in MS Office especially Excel (Excel pivot tables, V-Lookups)
Experience in the use of accounting systems
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in fast paced (retail or similar) environment.
