Our client in Gretna is seeking a talented Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this key position, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information, ensuring the integrity of our company's balance sheet, and supporting various departments in evaluating and managing financial performance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounts and statistics, adhering to the financial timetable to provide essential insights for decision-making.
Post month-end fixed and reversing journal entries to accurately match sales, cost of sales, and overheads, reflecting the true trading performance in the monthly management accounts.
Conduct variance analysis against previous periods and budget on the P & L, presenting the monthly accounts at divisional management accounts reviews, and actively supporting and challenging department heads.
Perform regular checks and reconciliations of the balance sheet, ensuring the completeness of the profit and loss statement.
Lead system implementation and process improvement initiatives, with a specific focus on automating processes for increased efficiency.
Support the understanding and upkeep of new systems and reporting requirements, aiding Retail Operational Managers in evaluating financial performance and conducting ad hoc investigations and analysis.
Collaborate with key budget holders to analyse reports and identify anomalies, investigating and providing explanations for variances against budget or forecasted figures.
Assist the Group Head of Finance in the budgeting and forecasting process, contributing from start to finish.
Help enhance internal controls across the business to safeguard company assets.
Required Skills:

- Preferably CIMA/ACCA qualified or QBE (Qualified by Experience).

from £38k-£45K + depending on hours and experience
