Job description
The role is within the HELM division finance team, which operates across a diverse range of business areas, including Hargreaves Logistics, Hargreaves Environmental and Hargreaves Minerals.
Working as a key member of the finance team they will work very closely with Financial Controllers, finance assistants, sales, and purchase ledger teams, and will be responsible for preparation and submission of the monthly accounts within the Minerals areas of the division.
The successful candidate will have substantial interaction with the business units.
Office based in Esh Winning.
Impact and Key Deliverables:
· Responsible for the preparation and submission of the monthly accounts, including journal preparation and posting.
· Ensure the monthly accounts and reporting is produced accurately and within agreed timescales.
· Control of balance sheets and supporting reconciliations.
· Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
· Ensure robust financial controls are in place.
· Ensure group accounting policies and procedures are followed.
· Identify systems and performance improvement opportunities.
· Provide support to the Financial Controller as required.
· Early identification of any issues identified and flagging to management – no surprises approach.
· Dealing with auditor requests.
· Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Department by assisting the Financial Controller in identifying and implementing improved processes and procedures.
· Offering support and guidance to the finance ledger teams as required.
· Other duties as and when requested by your Line Manager.
