Job description
MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT (1.0 FTE)
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
LOCATION - GLASGOW
£40,931 - £51,805 per annum
Permanent
The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) is a world leading, independent, university-level institution for the visual creative disciplines. We attract some of the finest academic and creative talent and are committed to creating and sustaining learning and working environments, where difference is respected and the widest possible range of cultural and social perspectives are valued.
Applications are invited for a MANGEMENT ACCOUNTANT, in the FINANCE DEPARTMENT.
The successful candidate will become a member of the accounting team that supports the Head of Finance and the Director of Finance in providing an effective range of budgeting, reporting and accounting support to the Glasgow School of Art.
The role is somewhat broader than a traditional Management Accounting role, encompassing aspects of Financial Accounting and Business Partnering. The team needs to grow now, in anticipation of a growing capital expenditure programme and because of the need to introduce resilience into a small team.
You will operate at an institutional level to support the preparation of an annual budget and longer term financial forecasting; to produce regular reports to monitor performance against that budget; to identify and explain variances; and to regularly re-forecast the financial outturn. You will also operate as a business partner to our budget holders, supporting them in constructing and monitoring their budgets.
You will need to be very adept in the use of Financial Systems and Microsoft Excel to undertake this role.

Closing date for submission of completed applications: Midnight, Friday 3rd March 2023.
Interviews for this post are scheduled to take place on Thursday 16 March 2023.
