Management Accountant Role in Manchester City Centre
£40,000 - £50,000 Base Salary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our dynamic beauty brand. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, providing valuable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making within our organization. Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support the business's strategic initiatives and objectives.
- Analyze financial data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial information for various projects and initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and recommendations for cost optimization.
Management Reporting:
- Generate accurate and timely management reports, presenting financial performance and key metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Provide insightful commentary and explanations for financial results, highlighting areas of concern, improvement, or potential growth.
- Develop and implement standardized reporting processes and templates to ensure consistency and efficiency across the organization.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and prepare special reports as requested by management.
Cost Control and Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze product costs, manufacturing expenses, and overheads, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate supplier contracts, negotiate pricing, and optimize purchasing strategies.
- Assist in the development of pricing strategies, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive in the beauty industry.
- Provide support and guidance to operational teams in cost management initiatives.
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulatory requirements in all financial activities.
- Participate in the preparation of financial statements, audits, and tax filings, collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and maintain the integrity of financial data.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to understand business needs and provide financial insights to drive decision-making.
- Work closely with the finance team to streamline processes, enhance financial systems, and improve overall efficiency.
- Provide financial support and guidance to non-financial stakeholders, ensuring accurate interpretation and understanding of financial information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar financial role within the beauty, cosmetics, or consumer goods industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and financial compliance standards.

Skills/ Qualifications
- Minimum AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ ACCA
- Must be proactive with a flexible approach
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive attitude and desire to grow personally
- Ability to work individually or as an effective team member to meet the finance teams objectives
- Sage Line 50 experience desirable
