About the Role
This role has responsibility for all aspects of month end close and reporting for Bonhams Asia-Pacific (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia) and helps ensure the smooth running of day-to-day finance processes in the US. It also supports cost control in the region and undertakes aspects of Group Reporting and ad hoc tasks as required.
The role will work closely with the Group Finance Team and other local and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and having ownership of all Asia-Pacific entities including being the main point of contact for any queries and production of monthly management accounts.
- Liaising with local accountants in each of the entities for statutory, tax and legal compliance issues and rules and regulations.
- Completion of VAT and tax returns where applicable.
- Involved with all aspects of the month end process including journal entries, reconciliations, business queries and close process.
- Managing day-to-day finance functions (cash management, payment approvals).
- Support in the completion of budgets and forecasts.
- Being the main point of contact for audits and providing them with the necessary information and data required.
- Working directly and remotely with key stakeholders.
- Responsible for helping drive best practice in the business e.g. ensuring appropriate coding & approval flow and training colleagues where needed
- Assisting with accounts payable in approving and paying invoices for the entities and dealing with the more challenging accounts payable queries.

- Demonstrates respect and consideration for people at all levels, functions and shows positive attitude towards feedback.
- Accounting qualification plus minimum of 1 years PQE
- Very strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles
- Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral.
- Advanced Excel skills – capable at analysing large datasets.
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems
