Maintenance Technician

About the role

Are you a multi-skilled trade operative looking for a role working across residential care homes and schools? Then look no further!


A Maintenance Technician’s role is to ensure the premises and equipment are maintained to a high standard to provide all employees and residents with a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment.


  • Painting and decorating, basic joinery, basic plumbing, and basic electrics.
  • Weekly maintenance activities across sites including but not limited to: Replacement doors, Glazing, bathroom fittings.
  • Annual checks PAT across all sites
  • Fire door compliance checks
  • Ad hoc emergency works
  • Project Works
  • Call out Rota.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Maintenance Technician is essential
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Experience in a health and social care setting is desirable but the right attitude and willingness to understand the needs of supporting our homes is essential


Additional requirements

  • Flexibility to cover business needs
  • A problem-solver with exceptional communication and organisational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and responsibly
  • Willingness to work occasional evening or weekends depending on the home’s requirements and be on call for emergencies
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
