Who we are:
North Air is responsible for providing into-plane services on behalf of major oil companies. We operate at 20 locations across the UK, where we carry out approximately 300 000 fuelling’s per year. We aim to provide safe, reliable and efficient into-plane services to our customers' satisfaction.
Job Purpose:
We require a qualified Maintenance Technician to maintain our fleet of aircraft refuelling vehicles.
Based at our Manchester Airport site with a requirement to support our operations at Chester, East Midlands and Belfast.
Key Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technicians key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Working as part of a team responsible for planned and non-planned maintenance for a mixed fleet, such as 7.5t hydrant dispensers and 20,000 – 44,000ltr refuellers
- New vehicle commissioning and where necessary factory inspection visits
- Maintaining close working relationships with the Maintenance Manager, 3rd parties and stakeholders
- Ensuring that Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to at all times
- Managing stock within agreed budgets
- Undertake fuel quality control checks
- Manage personal training and provide coaching
This role will be worked on a Monday to Friday basis with the potential to move to a more flexible working pattern to suit the operation, which may involve working at weekends when a shift allowance may be payable. Some overseas travel may be necessary as part of this role.
The successful candidate will need to be a strong team player, have strong organisational skills and be able to work on their own initiative, working to strict deadlines and task objectives, with limited supervision.
As this role involves some airside working, a CRB check and checkable work history, is essential as part of the airside pass application process.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- 5 years post apprentice vehicle mechanic experience
- Recognised qualification in HGV maintenance & repair
- Team player
- Safety awareness
Desirable:
- Current HGV Class 1 Licence C+E
- ADR/CPC Qualification
- Permit to Work
- Practical working knowledge of vehicle pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
- A good working knowledge of computerised Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) preferred but not essential
- An understanding of Engineering Management of Change and Control of Work principles would be beneficial
