Lovett Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our amazing team at Charlotte House, to act as a 'handy person' for the home. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in partnership with our team to deliver quality care for a diverse group of residents.
This role is for 30 hours per week, over 3 days (Mon - Fri) at £10.90 per hour.
(You must be willing to be available for call out, out of these hours should an emergency occur).
Previous experience in a Care Home or similar environment is preferred, however it is not essential. Experience of working in a maintenance role or similar is required.

Are you our next maintenance operative? Here's what to expect:
Provide maintenance services such as basic handy work, painting and decorating, minor repairs and upgrades to the building in accordance with current best practices. To carry out both planned and reactive maintenance issues and prioritise tasks.
Typical Day as a maintenance operative:
- Maintaining a safe and well-presented environment, you will carry out general maintenance in the home and its grounds.
- As well as carrying out weekly health and safety checks and risk assessments, you should also work to relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Occasional contact with contractors and residents is possible, so strong interpersonal skills are key.
- Identify faults and taking remedial action where safe and appropriate.
- Carrying out unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work.
- Undertake painting and decorating as required and ensuring high decorative standards are maintained.
- Performing other routine work requiring minor skills, including labouring as needed.
- Be willing to assist with driving the minibus for resident outings, as and when required.
- Completion of mandatory E-Learnings

What skills do I need ?
- Practical skills i.e basic DIY experience, plumbing and electrical knowledge
- Interpersonal and team works skills
- Basic health and safety knowledge. (Knowledge of Legionella disease is also desirable.)
- Current and valid driving license
