Future Street Ltd specialises in smart waste management for the public and private sectors. We are the largest distributor of the global leading Bigbelly smart waste platform product and are responsible for its deployment across 15 countries in Europe.
As sustainability and smart cities becomes top of the agenda for companies and councils, the Bigbelly system is revolutionising street waste collection globally, and quickly becoming a vital tool in helping any Public or Private body reach their sustainability targets. We deliver this smart and sustainable waste management solutions to cities, universities, shopping centres and other facilities across these regions.
Bigbelly stations are completely self-powered (via solar technology) increasing waste capacity and dramatically reduce collection trips by an average of 80%, as well as reducing CO2 emissions. There are now over 70,000 units installed worldwide. As well as now being in almost every major UK city, Big Belly units are now found on the streets of New York, Madrid, Paris, Monaco, Cannes, Dubrovnik, Malaga, Palma and beyond.
Future Street is expanding rapidly and seeking to recruit a hands-on Technician. Reporting to the Territory Lead but working closely with the UK Operations Manager you will be tasked with overseeing operations at our Southern Warehouse and serving the needs of our South East and London-based customer base. We consider every regional warehouse to be a well-oiled machine that operates with a customer-centric mentality, delivering on our promise to customers & rely on exceptionally talented, bright and committed people.
Our Technician needs to be a skilled multitasker who will manage the receiving, handling, storing, packing and delivery of stock and spare parts for our local engineers and Customers. As the area technician you must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate order fulfilment, track shipping of parts and our BigBelly units and manage the installation and ongoing maintenance and cleanliness regimes of the BigBelly units. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally detail-oriented, customer driven, be able to work independently and off their own initiative, be tool-savvy, able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously and be able to present themselves and the company well when meeting with our customers.
Objectives of this role
- Receipt, review, prepare and pack stations and spare parts to customers needs.
- Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal — by organizing their daily tasks to a high level and carefully monitoring and managing operational goals.
- Ensure BigBelly units are installed within our clients Public Spaces to correct specifications and to work with Future Street South Sales Personnel to ensure that the ongoing maintenance and cleaning visits are successfully completed and to agreed timeframes.
- Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, and shipping methods.
- Working with the Operations Manager
- Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
- Solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
- Monitor contractors works
- Review and prepare workflows, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing HSE and Company standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
- Manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
- Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary
- Oversee and manage logistics for transporting BigBelly units to our customers and company facilities and manage the ongoing scheduled maintenance and cleansing visits.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with our international Warehouses and Sales Teams in the UK
Required skills and qualifications
· GCSE English and Maths
· Full Clean Driving Licence
· Technical experience and capabilities to use power tools
· Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies
· Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
· Experience of HSE Health and Safety regulations
· Ability to work well and safely independently
· Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff and with our clients
· Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal
Preferred skills and qualifications
· Proficiency with SCM+ for warehouses
· Experience driving Luton vans with tail lifts
· License to operate a forklift

Salary: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
