We serve a population of over 250,000 and feature two hospitals, two urgent cares, an emergent care center, outpatient services and a provider network with 19 regional locations. Summary Performs a variety of duties on the buildings and grounds of the hospital complexes. Assists other trades and other employees in completing their tasks; repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. The population served by this position is in the adult age group, primarily 20-60 year old category. Responsibilities 1. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner as to reflect the highest integrity of the department 2. Performs Emergency, Corrective, Routine, and Requisitioned maintenance repairs of any building systems as required and maintains records of such. 3. Performs Preventative Maintenance inspection and repairs on equipment and systems as required, maintains records of such. 4. Performs Casualty Prevention inspection/testing as required and all discrepancies found during inspection and testing are addressed within 48 hours. 5. Assists in replacing, installing, repairing, and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required. 6. Troubleshoots equipment and building systems malfunctions, repairs or replaces defective parts, etc., as necessary. 7. Project work is scheduled and completed on time, within budget, and minimal call backs. 8. Maintains stock levels of materials and parts within budgetary constraints. 9. Works with Lead/Supervisor/Manager in maintaining and repairing controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas. 10. Maintains a professional attitude regarding patient and co-workers confidentiality. Pro-actively prevents breaching of confidentiality. 11. Provides input into departmental capital budget requests. 12. Demonstrates awareness of the hospitals Mission and Vision. Makes recommendation to improve quality and services to support the hospitals Mission and Vision. 13. Supports and actively participates in team development. 14. Demonstrates reliability in performance of job responsibilities and response to customers. 15. Provides proper notification and advance notice of absence or tardiness and PTO Requests. 16. Maintains good working relationship with peers, displays positive attitude in the workplace. 17. Assists other employees with troubleshooting and repairing the following systems; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and flooring. 18. Performs snow removal duties as needed . Special Qualifications: The Maintenance Tech must have a good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, building maintenance, and have the ability to troubleshoot and repair these systems or components. This individual must be self-motivated, responsible and reliable. Will be required to work with outside contractors, equipment manufacturers, supply vendors. Must be able to communicate in the English Language and must be proficient in reading and writing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: This position requires the maintenance tech to have the following: 1. A minimum of 3 years experience in any of the following specialty area i.e., Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, Flooring, Painting, CAD, Welding 2. A minimum of 2-3 years experience in the use of power tools. 3. Read blueprints, interprets instructions. 4. General knowledge of all trades, hospital experience is a plus. 5. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. 6. Current unrestricted Driver License and proof of personal auto insurance required.
