Job introduction
Longhill High School have a great opportunity for an applicant interested it general maintenance and plumbing. A Premises Apprentice is now required to join the School’s Premises Team. The team conducts the maintenance and cleaning of the school buildings and grounds on a rotating shift.
You will be trained in basic maintenance operations on electrics, decorating, carpentry and plumbing. There is an opportunity to learn enhance plumbing skills beyond maintenance, such as fitting radiators and Taps. The apprenticeship is recognised by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and provides Associate Membership for the apprentice whilst studying. This apprenticeship will be delivered in partnership with Brighton Metropolitan College. Day release will be at Brighton MET College East campus.
About the role
You will be employed for 37 hours a week all year round working Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 17.00 p.m. The apprenticeship is for 18-months. Part of these hours will used to learn and practice the skills required in order to complete the apprenticeship. In the case of this apprenticeship there will be an emphasis on plumbing.
An enhanced DBS clearance is required for all staff.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
