The Role
At our Waste Treatment Plant on the Isle of Wight, we are recruiting for a Maintenance Planner. As a planner you will be a key part of the maintenance team, responsible for planning maintenance services for our Waste Treatment technology. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for asset and spares management, preventative maintenance planning and machine history data. In addition you will have responsibility for our Stores and Logistics Team.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Provide day to day management, supervision, programming, updating and co-ordination of the Site CMMS, to assist in delivering maximum plant availability and overall performance in line with high standards of Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality performance and Legislative requirements
  • Provide solutions including all associated reporting and cost estimating
  • Provide input into all health and safety aspects where appropriate
  • Compile, communicate and present regular project portfolio financial update reports both internally and externally
  • Comply with procurement processes and actively review and manage supply chain performance in association with procurement colleagues
  • Manage and prioritise workload for the Maintenance Team
  • Manage and maintain the levels of stores and materials
  • Work as part of a team and work in an autonomous and professional manner
  • Work with service provider/contractors to define required work schedules and duties
  • Implement routine planned and unplanned maintenance tasks in line with the maintenance programme and individual skillset
The Person
  • Previous experience as a planner
  • Maintenance experience (preferable)
  • Strong Excel user
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate (written & verbal) in English
  • Clear and analytical thinking – able to diagnose issues and link to business performance and assign priorities to resources
  • Action oriented, agile and decisive
  • Builds and maintains professional expertise through networks, learning activities and research

In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. This generates the same amount of energy as approximately 600 million solar panels. Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
