Job Title – Hotel Shift Engineer
Location – Stamford Bridge
Permanent Role
Hours – 40 hours per week – 4 on 4 off – 12 hour shifts

What We’re Looking For:
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the facilities department as a technical services specialist for the Millennium & Copthorne Hotels for Chelsea FC. The post holder will carry out planned and reactive maintenance within the hotels and associated areas, ensuring that all work is complete in a safe and timely manner, to a high standard and in keeping with appropriate M&E regulation to ensure guest satisfaction levels are met. In addition, the role will support the Hotel Property Maintenance Manager in the smooth running of the department including supporting with briefings, stock control, shift cover and contractor supervision.
Brief description and duties:
- Support team briefings and meetings in the absence of the Hotel Property Maintenance Manager
- Provide shift support directly or by arranging adequate shift cover during periods of leave.
- Stock management and control
- Plantroom housekeeping
- Contractor supervision including the issuing of permits.
- To follow daily task list as issued by the Hotel Property Maintenance Manager and Helpdesk
- To carry out routine inspections of all areas of the hotel recognising faults and rectify/reporting them in a prompt and efficient manner.
- To carry out general maintenance duties such as the following: -
- Basic electrical repairs where escalation to a specialist is not required.
- Reporting fault finding.
- Minor Carpentry
- Lamp changing
- Minor plumbing work
- Minor decorating work - touch-ups
- To regularly check and rectify all lighting.
- Monitor and act upon Hazard Reporting
- Liaise with the Health & Safety Security Manager
- Record accurately all work carried out on internal CAFM.
- Ensuring all compliance records are kept to up to date.
- To carry out other reasonable duties as requested by other departments.
- To be responsible for all company tools and equipment that are used to carry out duties.
- Provide a friendly and professional service to all guests when around the public areas or in bedrooms.
Must haves:
- Experience of managing stock
- Experience of undertaking general maintenance
- Experience of working in hotel setting
- Ability to plan own workload and meet tight deadlines.
- A team player and able to work effectively in a team.
- Keen eye for detail
- Customer focused showing commitment to serving customers’ interests.
- Good communication
Nice to Haves/qualified by demonstrable experience to the level required:
- 18th Edition electrical qualification is desirable.
- Mechanical qualification is desirable.
- Plumbing qualification is desirable.
- Good understanding and awareness of health and safety.
- Good understanding of PPM.
- Good understanding of how to interpret and fault find the readings.
