Job description
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) Electrical Apprenticeship leads to an Electrical Team member role which is vital to the effective and efficient running of our flood defence assets in and around London. You will be joining a team training and helping with the delivery of electrical maintenance and carrying out operations across our critical assets working in partnership with government, local councils, businesses, and communities to tackle the impacts of climate change and manage the assets that protect Central London from flooding.
This is a 4-year apprenticeship, and you will spend your first year at an engineering college gaining the basic skills necessary to work and train with the onsite teams. Once complete you will have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship and will have gained an NVQ level 3.
As part of the Thames Barrier and Associated Gates (TBAG) Engineering Team, you will report to the Electrical Team Leader and be part of the Thames Tidal Defences (TTD) MEICA team.

You will be required to have an incident role when qualified and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
