About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to play a lead role in shaping the design and delivery of our serving, testing and reactive maintenance services to ensure that they deliver what matters to our customers and achieve compliance with all necessary standards. This is a new role, working as part of a large multi-disciplinary Assets, Property and Estate Management team, planning and delivering consistent high-quality services to our customers across Wales.

What will you be doing?

We have a strong and enviable record of great performance in relation to the quality of our housing portfolio, with reactive maintenance and cyclical compliance services specifically designed in a customer centred way and a strong track record of high satisfaction and effective delivery.

Working to the Director of Assets & Maintenance you will lead teams of technical, customer facing staff responsible for the management and delivery of compliant servicing and testing cycles in homes across Wales, alongside effective reactive maintenance service delivery. Your teams manage the customer experience from the first point of contact, right through to the successful completion of the repair, service or test. You will work in close liaison with our wholly owned maintenance subsidiary, Cambria Maintenance Services, to continually develop and evolve effective customer focussed service delivery, alongside accurate and detailed rolling forecasting to allow reliable financial planning and simple but effective performance measures.

As part of the Senior Management Group you will work in close liaison with colleagues delivering major refurbishment programmes and regionally based housing, property and estate management services, including the diagnosis of building defects and solutions.

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role you will have a genuine passion and desire to deliver the best possible services. You will naturally possess strong leadership skills that bring the best out in people, as you will recognise that success depends on the teams you manage. You will also have a strong track record of understanding and continually improving large scale, geographically spread maintenance services in a systematic and customer centred way whilst demonstrating legal compliance and performance for customers.

Who are Wales & West Housing (WWH)?

We are one of the leading housing providers in Wales; providing affordable homes and services to more than 20,000 residents in over 12,000 properties across Wales. We formed a group company in 2011, to include Cambria Maintenance Ltd. We employ almost 450 staff at WWH and over 170 staff in Cambria, making us a major Welsh employer. As an organisation we adopt a systems thinking approach to the way we manage and deliver our services across the Group; it underpins the way in which we operate.

We are ranked as 3* World Class in the 2022 Best Companies list and are also very proud to be the first organisation in Wales to be awarded Platinum status in the Investors in People (IiP) Standard.

We are embracing a new hybrid way of working that enables us to deliver a great service and supports a strong and connected organisational culture. Staff will spend a minimum of two days a week (or an appropriate pro rata for part timers), in the office. The remainder of the week will be determined by the needs of the role and/or the nature of the work; so you may be on site, at one of our regional bases, or working from home if suitable.
