We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to manage and develop the provision of the Maintenance Services.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the Maintenance and associated service teams.
The Maintenance Manager is a key role at the College to ensure that the site is maintained to its current high standard, is able to support the core academic and commercial business functions and supports the health and safety of our staff and students.
Your duties
The Maintenance Management function comprises managing hard services associated areas and the Maintenance Manager plays a vital role in achieving the success of these operations.
Budgetary skills are essential for the role, as the Maintenance Manager you would be expected to manage a £2m budget and achieve best value through cost reduction and effective procurement.
You will:
- Manage and develop the provision of the Maintenance, and related services, to meet the operational requirements of the College. This includes PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Liaise with all College departments and stakeholders as necessary to facilities their operational requirements and to ensure that the College assets are maintained to the agreed standards, including residential properties.
- Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).

Person specification
A knowledge of hard services and building construction is key for this role, preferably within an educational environment.
A key part of this role is to move the management of planned and reactive maintenance functions to a Facilities Management software system to incorporate KPI and SLA reporting. It would be desirable for the candidate to have had experience of these systems.
The campus comprises of separate sites and many buildings, therefore, the ideal candidate should have experience of managing and / or supervising maintenance services across multi-sites.
Good communications skills are an essential requirement for the Maintenance Manager.
