Requirements:
The ideal person will have strong experience, ideally at least 2-3 years in a similar position, with a background across multiple trades to include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting/decorating and/or general building maintenance.
The successful candidate will be proactive with exceptional organisational skills and should be able to demonstrate a portfolio that boasts delivery of high-quality maintenance projects.
You will manage a small team as well as supervise the day-to-day maintenance operation within our busy hotel, restaurant and events operation.
Other desired skills/experience that would prove beneficial in the role would include IT literacy, Health Safety and the ability to conduct first level fault finding.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, that is reliable and willing to learn as part of this growing team.
Duties will include:
- Ensure both internal and external maintenance work is carried out in line with the required standards.
- Delivering KPI improvements in line with agreed standard operating procedures, always working to reduce environmental impact.
- Schedule the team in line with planned and routine activities to deliver optimal levels of productivity.
- Maintain effective planning and checking of daily, weekly and monthly periodic activity.
- You will be required to take the lead on health and safety matters along with being responsible for managing security arrangements throughout the hotel and completion of routine Health Safety checks.
- Defect repair and reactive maintenance ensuring exceptional standards of workmanship. Repairs are to be robust, compliant and of high quality.
- Maintaining and managing all equipment, tools and resources.
- Ensuring all equipment and materials are secured and HS compliant at all times.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and workshop.
- Ensuring a well-stocked workshop to enable efficient reactive maintenance to a wide variety of issues that may arise.
- Effective planning and timely execution of planned maintenance programmes to ensure deadlines are not exceeded.
- Offer training and development to team members to improve overall technical skills and knowledge.
- Monitor maintenance work of team ensure all tasks are HS compliant and completed to the highest standard.
- Timely escalation via the correct channels of any works that need referral to a sub-contractor.
- Ability to work with a range of stakeholders from hotel guests, colleagues, sub-contractors, hotel and building management.
- Must proactive with the identity of any faults, maintenance issues, aesthetic repairs that are needed to make sure the hotel is immaculately presented at all times.
- Communicate progress reports and provide regular updates to hotel management ensuring full transparency on progress.
- Cost effective management of expenses and material purchasing.
- As the position involves working predominantly in guest areas, candidates must be smart, polite and respectful.
- On call duty if required.
