A fantastic opportunity has arisen at The Chelsea Landscape Gardener, sister company to The Chelsea Gardener and The Palace Gardener, London.
We are looking for a new Gardener to join our Maintenance and Soft landscape department which services private clients in Kensington, Chelsea, Fulham, Clapham and Battersea with ongoing garden maintenance and seasonal planting.
Strong horticultural knowledge is a must, and we will be looking for candidates with practical experience in a similar role, as well as an academic horticultural background.
Reporting to the Maintenance Personager, the gardeners are paired in teams of two and work a set number of clients on a rolling schedule, as well as one off planting jobs as they arise.
The job is varied servicing a variety of garden types and the successful candidate will need a strong background in gardening and plant knowledge.
The Gardeners work closely with the Landscaping team and there is the opportunity to gain experience working alongside senior members of the company.

Gardener responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of high end domestic gardens and terraces.
- Lawn care.
- Planting and installation of containerised plants and seasonal displays.
- Monitoring and ensuring health of plants and greenspaces including: watering, feeding, pruning, spraying.
- Maintenance of power tools and gardening equipment including mowers, hedge-trimmers and leaf blowers.
- Mulching, edging, weeding flower boards.
- Pruning climbers, shrubs, perennial plants.
- Plant pest and disease control.
- Setting and adjusting of irrigation systems.
- Ensure the best communication with clients, team members and management.
- Making sure that our gardens and green spaces are always kept up to the best standard.
- Recording parking and job details to ensure accurate billing to the client where necessary.
Requirements
- 2-years minimum experience as a gardener and knowledge of basic gardening techniques.
- Knowledge and understanding of garden plans and bringing designs to life.
- Extensive knowledge of regional[SB2] plant life and plant care techniques.
- Knowledge and understanding of plant pests and diseases control.
- Clear understanding and working within Health and Safety regulations (mandatory training provided).
- Health and physical fitness.
- Lifting and moving heavy equipment, materials and plants.
- Love for the outdoors and plant life.
- Ability and experience of using power tools.
- Strong manual skills.
- Precision and attention to detail.
- Good customer service.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Good work ethic and reliability to work.
- Driving licence and experience of driving in London.
- PA1/PA6 preferable.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,054.71-£27,737.12 per year
