We are currently on the lookout for a Maintenance Fitter to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our River Island site in Milton Keynes. Most of your time, you will work a Monday to Friday shift pattern of 08:00 – 16:00 but you will also need to have a flexible approach as you will be expected to cover call out every 1 week in 3 (call out covers Monday - Friday, 16:00 - 08:00, and 24 hours over the weekend).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £25,188 per annum plus a call out rate and an attractive overtime rate should you need to stay longer on the call out. In addition, we offer 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
Repair and maintain of all mechanical and electrical equipment on site such as parcel sorter, ensuring the continuous maintenance of the equipment and overall uptime of the operation- Carry out small projects and repairs around the site, including plumbing, decorating, small electrical works, or MHE maintenance
- Accurately complete maintenance reports and inspection records
- Identify and progress continuous improvement opportunities within the department and across all areas of the operation, enhancing the service to our customer
What you need to succeed at GXO:
A flexible approach is a must, as you’ll be on call during the week and weekends- Ability to prioritise the work and work on own initiative
- Experience working in a similar role would be advantageous, but we will consider those from other backgrounds
- A team player with a good level of IT skills, we work hard so we need you to do so too!
