The Role
What’s the role?
As an Offshore Execution Supervisor, you will be leading the operations and maintenance team in the execution of frozen schedule to the required quality in an efficient manner. You will also be accountable for reaching hands on tool and schedule compliance targets. You will be accountable as well for the skill development in your team, with particular focus on multi skilling the operations and maintenance team on the front line.
More specific responsibilities include:
HSSE
- Monitor and coach technicians in driving safe execution of maintenance in the field
- Review notifications for process and personal safety risk and steering the maintenance team into proposing pragmatic ALARP solutions
- Maximise field presence to coach, guide and support his team
- Contribute to/or lead incident investigations offshore
Leadership
- Line manager for Shell and Contractor O+M technicians
- Responsible for changing the culture from external dependency and equipment change out towards can-do mentality and pragmatic solutions in maintenance within his/her team
- Drive execution of weekly frozen schedule by his team; utilise continuous improvement techniques for removing barriers and inefficiencies
- Provide resource capacity to scheduler to enable 100% loading of his team and ensures sufficient load is in the frozen schedule and ready to execute fill-in work to maximise efficiency
- Lead the maintenance technicians in maximising Hands-on Tool time through removing barriers and driving the right behaviours
- Lead and develop technicians in multiskilling and executing activities to the required quality standards
- Identifies opportunities for rationalisation/optimisation of PM with target of 10% workload reduction, utilising the Z6 process
- Lead and support the maintenance techs in detecting and raising threats and opportunities for minimising HSSE risks of operating and maintaining the asset, ensuring production according to plan and minimising costs with high impact, cost-effective solutions.
- Signs off time writing sheets for contractors
- Provide clear expectations for required level of work preparation to the onshore work preparers and checks quality of work prep for frozen week. Engages in weekly telecom with onshore WP&S team
- Ensure the timely requesting, generation, and review of Permits, avoiding delays
- Participate in the YTT meeting to liaise with Operations on status of work and readiness of equipment for maintenance, avoiding delays in execution
Technical Assurance
- Drive high quality maintenance history and faults recording Coach and develops the multi skill and supervisory competences and experience build up by the offshore maintenance team, required to minimise external execution support from contractors or vendors.
- Through metrics and field visits and drives continuous improvement in the maintenance E2E process.
- Monitor equipment condition as found during maintenance to identify potential improvements for the maintenance and inspection strategies (frequency and scope)
Technical Management
- Coordinate activities in frozen schedule, executed by own team, assign resources to activities
Plan & Budget Ownership
- Evaluate actual hours by referencing norm hours and own experience; improve estimated hours in PM though Z6 process and feedback improvements to work preparators
- Provide input into the Maintenance Reference Plan for Clipper Modifications
- Identify appropriate standards for repairs and engineering scopes
Contract Management
- Monitor engineering and maintenance contractors working on platform and drive efficiency improvements
- Feedback performance of contractor to contract holder, raise NCRs where needed/adds value
- Identify opportunities for transferring workload from vendors/external support into own team
Emergency Response
- Provide support for emergency and standby situations where required
What we need from you
We are keen to hear from individuals with extensive trade experience in maintenance preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.

- Maintenance Planning and Execution
- Technician Team Development and Supervisory experience
- SAP knowledge
