Role Overview: As a Multiskilled Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the safety, maintenance, and installation of electrical and mechanical aspects of the company's equipment and facilities. You will collaborate with the Engineering and Production teams and contractors to maintain all plant machinery and carry out preventative maintenance. Additionally, you will contribute to engineering projects and participate in finding and resolving electrical faults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line support on all manufacturing assets and processes.
- Conduct fault finding, repair, and maintenance on manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Improve maintenance programs within production to optimize efficiency.
- Work towards continuous improvement in manufacturing activities and processes, minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments, engineers, and contractors to resolve breakdowns promptly.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and to the highest standard at all times.
- Participate in planned preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist in problem-solving activities, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
- Maintain and update relevant departmental documentation.
- Comply with company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Health & Safety practices within the workplace.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous manufacturing experience in a similar role with a focus on high volume production output.
- NVQ or HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong team player with excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Proficiency in DC & AC wiring.
- Understanding of basic Health and Safety requirements.
- Demonstrable methodical fault-finding and solution implementation skills.
- Effective oral and written communication abilities.
- Adaptable, flexible, and able to prioritize workload under pressure.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Working Hours and Benefits:
- Competitive salary: circa £49,600 per annum.
- 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off).
