About the role:
We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated General Maintenance Engineers to join our team at Fixcxrowd Limited. As a General Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing both scheduled and reactive maintenance services for our clients' properties. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that the maintenance needs of our tenants are met and that our properties are well-maintained.
As a General Maintenance Engineer, you will primarily focus on reactive maintenance work. This means that you will be on the road, attending to maintenance calls as they arise. You will work closely with our scheduling team, who will efficiently organize your jobs and ensure that you arrive at each location on time. Upon completion of each job, you will be expected to provide detailed job reports and images to our customers, ensuring clear communication and transparency.
The nature of the work will be varied, with some tasks requiring only a short amount of time, while others may take a full day to complete. Flexibility and willingness to commute between job locations throughout London is a key aspect of this role. We expect our General Maintenance Engineers to carry out a minimum of 6 chargeable hours per day, which could involve either one 6-hour job or multiple separate 1-hour callouts.
As a General Maintenance Engineer, you are expected to have a diverse skill set and be proficient in various maintenance tasks. Your abilities should range from addressing simple maintenance tasks to handling more complex repairs. Some of the tasks you will be responsible for include:
- Leak investigations: Identifying the source of leaks and implementing appropriate repairs to prevent further damage.
- Tap or cartridge replacement: Replacing faulty taps or cartridges to ensure proper water flow and functionality.
- Installing fire alarms: Properly installing and testing fire alarm systems to ensure the safety of the property and its occupants.
- Replacing light switches: Replacing faulty or outdated light switches to ensure proper electrical functionality.
- Fixing toilet flush systems: Repairing or replacing components in toilet flush systems to restore proper flushing mechanisms.
- Replacing door handles: Installing new door handles or repairing existing ones to ensure smooth operation and security.
- Silicon application: Applying silicon sealant to areas such as bathtubs, showers, or windows to prevent water leaks and maintain a clean appearance.
- Shower seal replacement: Replacing worn-out or damaged seals in shower enclosures to prevent water leakage.
- Toilet seat replacement: Installing new toilet seats to ensure comfort and hygiene.
- Door fitting: Fitting doors, adjusting hinges, and ensuring proper alignment for smooth opening and closing.
These are just a few examples of the tasks you may encounter as a General Maintenance Engineer. Your ability to address a wide spectrum of maintenance needs, from simple repairs to more complex installations, will be essential in providing comprehensive maintenance services to our clients.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ Years Previous experience in general maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of various maintenance tasks.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
