What You Will Do:
- To Provide technical support to all areas every day across both mechanical & electrical
- To ensure the department operates with due regards to current legislation, company and statutory requirements
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment throughout the site
- Installation of production and plant equipment, commissioning, breakdown analysis and repair
- Identification of areas which could be improved and propose solutions
- Assist with apprentice and learner development
- Actively take part in lean events and help drive efficiency
Who You Are:
- Ability to diagnose electrical control failures and resolve issues
- Experience diagnosing mechanical component/system issues and fixing them
- Knowledge of wiring regs
- Solid understanding of electro-pneumatic automation equipment and systems
- Experience of both mechanical and electrical facility services – e.g. mains distribution/compressed air/water systems/chillers
- Capable of industrial machinery installation
- Good planning and time management ability
- Knowledge of health and safety
- Solid understanding of CMMS systems
- Apprenticeship, HNC/D, BTEC or Degree level in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering subject area with around 5 years’ experience within a relevant role.
- Experience working in a Manufacturing environment
- Able to use Lean and Six Sigma techniques to complete process improvements.
- Good analytical skills to help drive and measure improvements.
- Able to demonstrate a broad experience of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Shown ability to successfully lead multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and be able to drive through improvements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to present information concisely and optimally.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D Drawing Package.
- Ability to read and understand wiring and pneumatic diagrams.
- Familiar with personal computers and proficient using MS Excel, MSWord, MS Powerpoint, MS Project and Minitab
- Able to build FMEA’s and Risk assessments to form part of the change control process.
- Clean driving licence
- Happy to be part of a double day shift, potential for shift to span over the weekend period and occasional overtime may be available.
